There are three things to remember about Rick Perry:
1.
2.
I forget the third.

You don't think the field is full enough as it is?

Rick Perry is solidly in the second-tier in this year's field.  The Republican nomination belongs to one of Scott Walker, Jeb Bush, Rand Paul, or Marco Rubio.  I don't see how anybody else can clinch the nomination.

Try just above Vermin Supreme... Steve Stockman would have a better chance at winning the GOP nomination.

I was trying to give Gov. Perry the benefit of the doubt.

He had his shot in 2012 to be the serious Anti-Romney and he bombed spectacularly. No way he'll find any success this time around with a much stronger field.

He's also been indicted on serious abuse of power charges, of which it looks like there is a serious chance of conviction.

Don't, it doesn't help him or anyone else.

Kinda.

It's a crowded field and the perception is that someone who screwed up before isn't going to get another shot.

Don't forget Rick Snyder.  Fortunately, Rick Scott decided against running.

I still refer to forgetting the third thing in a series as "pulling a Rick Perry."

The difference is Ted Cruz is well-spoken and educated in addition to being a conniving, malicious bully while Rick Perry is a complete dork who lacks wit and pretends to be a strong authority figure.

I thought his reputation was destroyed in the last primary.

I thought his reputation was destroyed in the last primary.

No, you see, he got "glasses, stem cell treatment, and...and...what was the third thing?"

Rand Paul: "An indictment?

Perry: "Yes, there we go, an indictment! (laughs)"

Moderator: "An indictment, Governor. Is that really the third thing?"

Perry: "No, no. I mean I did, but it's not what I physically got. It's glasses, stem cell treatment, and...and... let's see. I can't. Oops"

I would also characterize Perry as a conniving, malicious bully though I will concede that Ted Cruz is well-spoken and educated, especially when compared to Perry.

They do seem to come from the same political school of egotistical, bullying blowhards though.
