I don't get the suspension bit. Who has the power to do that? Hopefully she will seek an injunction, and be awarded attorneys' fees, and then fire the city attorney, who in most towns serves at the pleasure of the mayor. I would file an ethics complaint too, against the attorney, if he has no colorable claim for the advice he gave. And then she should be able to appoint the police commissioner, and get the police chief fired.
