The purpose of this Resolution is, quite simply, to form a united front against the rebels currently operating in West Virginia. If anyone has a question about the content of this proposal, I would gladly answer; otherwise, I suggest that we call a vote as soon as possible so that this lawless insurrection may be stamped out.

This looks too much like a bill of attainder, declaring guilt and calling for punishment against the members of the Confederation before they have their day in court.

The region already has the legal authority to defend itself and prosecute those who break the law. I see no reason for this resolution.

This resolution has my support. A strong stance against the rebels is needed, since the integrity of the Mideast is at stake. The resolution does not promote any punishment beyond the enforcement of law, so I do not expect its passage to be controversial.
