This is good news for the Democrats. Clinton gets some practice in debates, Bernie never wins. Best case scenario - Bernie gets fairly close in New Hampshire but no one cares.

I may switch my party affiliation just to vote for Sanders.  He's one of the few honest men/women in Washington, and he's against the trade agreements that have exported the jobs that supported the middle class.

You've gotta love the diversity on Atlas.  "Fundamentalists for Sanders" has to be a pretty small group.

Anyways, Sanders' positions on free trade and other things are why I oppose his candidacy and would prefer a Clinton win.

Good. The more the merrier. Sanders may be unelectable, but he'll bring important issues to the table.

Could he become the Ron Paul of the Democratic Party? (Someone with a small grassroots following that has an outsized impact, especially in caucus states, and who attracts at least some support from the other party.)

He's pretty fly for a rabbi.

As a strong Hillary Clinton supporter, I'm happy that he's running.  A fight on issues only brings the good arguments for our policy to the forefront instead of the BS personality politics.

I think Bernie Sanders is a great Senator.  He reminds me of one of my political heroes, Paul Wellstone.  He's on the few people in politics with the chutzpah to advocate for the Democratic wing of the Democratic party.  And, Bernie Sanders actually has a reason to run unlike the other milquetoast lightweights like Martin O'Malley.

Man, I wish I were four years younger so I could get idealistically excited about Sanders instead of boringly supporting Clinton out of pragmatism. Oh well.

When the republicans tank the economy into the ground again when they regain the presidency at some point, we'll get to support the shoe-in ideologue again.

I'm a big fan of the guy, but I doubt that he's in it to win it. He's probably hoping to get his message out, and make Hillary work to rile up progressives.

Also an old man with an army of younger supporters. While Strauss and Howe is largely bullsh**t I remember reading an analysis years ago of Star Wars as an analogy of older prophets leading armies of young heroes. Guess that would be Sanders or Paul, both men with ideologies out of step with the times.

Ugh, so much for not having to spend a ton of money to win the nomination.

Flawed premise.  Hillary Clinton wouldn't do herself any favors by hiding in the shadows and gliding to the nomination unopposed.  Whatever she does, there are going to be Hillary haters talking.  She needs to be part of the conversation early and often.

Not to mention I don't think it's exactly going to take her entire war chest to win the primary. The amount she raises is going to be astronomical.

Yeah, it's not going to take much money to defeat Sanders.

Lincoln Chafee will have Lincoln Chafee's vote, and that's all that matters to Lincoln Chafee.
