But the good news for him is that he's not doing much worse than Romney in 2012. Also pretty hilarious that Romney did way better in 2008 than in 2012.

It's interesting that Gephardt had the most endorsements before April 30th on two occasions and still lost the nomination.

Surely, Sanders will get some endorsements when he announces. Not as many as Hillary Clinton though, that's for sure.

If leading in endorsements meant that much, then surely Gephardt would have gotten the nomination at least once.

It's interesting that Gephardt had the most endorsements before April 30th on two occasions and still lost the nomination.

The House of Reps has an awfully large number of members, and being in the House leadership will presumably guarantee you the loyalty of at least some of them.

Most endorsements are just a symbolic gesture anyway, unless there's large amounts of funding or a sizable voting bloc involved.

If I'm remembering What It Takes correctly, his ties with organized labor also had a lot to do with it, at least in '88.
