A real populist like Bernie Sanders could energize millions of disenfranchised True Leftists who would otherwise stay at home for the right wing neoliberal warmonger Hillary. Does this scare you?

Lol yes I'm very scared.

But seriously, as much as I like him as an honest politico, the guy is so easily portrayed as some old crank. He'd lose big in a fairly low turnout affair.

I'd always be concerned about any signs that a major political party lost their minds.

I like Sanders and I like to hear him talk.  He makes a lot of sense in many ways.

However, no way could he win an election, against almost any Republican.

Even Cruz would beat him.

Well played, but in seriousness, I would like to see where Sanders would rate ideologically compared to those on the other side like Cruz.  My guess is Cruz is more right-wing than Sanders is left-wing, but not by much.
