I'm watching his announcement right now. This is such a trainwreck. He is an okay public speaker in the sense that he's not completely paralyzed and awkward, but this is clearly not his forum. It's also very poorly filmed - it's like some Sunday 2AM televangelist special. I suspect he gets no bump from this. 

For all the talk of Carly Fiorina's hilarious ads against Boxer and CAmpbell, she actually had the better announcement (better a one minute video of platitudes than an hour and a half of whatever Carson just put out).

BTW, the slowmotion 'boy with flag' video has also been used by Fiorina, Perry, Walker, Rubio and Santorum, along with other campaigns and PACs

What?  No.  That's not what I suggested at all.  And I don't know where you get the idea Mike Huckabee knew he had no chance of winning in 2008.

Carson will stick around longer than most people think. Aside from the hefty amount of cash his supporters have already raked in for him, that low-key conversational style in his announcement speech will likely play well in town hall events. He doesn't talk down to crowds like a lot of politicians, he's speaking to them as a fellow man.
