I admit that I played through the 4th generation pretty seriously, but the legitimacy ended after 3rd Gen for me. As for the cards - only through the 2nd generation because after that they got started looking too modern.

if true, the current pokemon is criticized ... but I still see much as it was before and seems to want to take a more 'modern' sense 'the plot ..

What needs to happen for future Pokemon games are 3 types, such as Ground/Water/Grass or Fighting/Fairy/Bug.  Secondly, what about a Dark/Grass or a Poison/Steel?

Every Generation has great designs Pokemon designs and stupid Pokemon designs.

The newer Generations have better plots for the most part.

However the villains and Legendary Pokemon are generally ridiculous. What ten year old is going to fight the Yakuza (Rocket), Eco Terrorists (Magma/Aqua), people who want to "create a new new world" (Galactic), an enhanced version of PETA (Black and White, possibly Black and White 2) and extremely fashionable, genocidal nuclear terrorists (Flare)? What ten-year old would be able catch the embodiments of Time (Dialga), Space (Palkia), Knowledge (Uxie), Emotions (Mesprit), Land (Groudon), Sea (Kyogre) and Sky (Rayquaza)? Oh, and don't forget the part about capturing the Devil/Antimatter (Giratina) and God (Arceus)?

I generally liked Nos. 152-251 as well. Gold/Silver/Crystal was the best generation of Pokémon games. After that...nah.

Nostalgia is a horribly blinding thing. I was a kid and grew up with the original 151, but they are pretty lazy designs all and all. Seal? It's just a seal. Voltorb? It's a pokeball with eyes. Magnamite? It's just a magnate with eyes. It's not like they tried that hard, there's good Pokémon and so so ones in every generation. Just don't let yourself be blinded by the all powerful nostalgia.
