Grooveshark was shut down April 30th after years of legal wrangling over whether the service it provided was legal or not. Basically, it allowed any user to stream any song from Grooveshark's library on demand, free of charge. Paid service was at price parity with streaming services like Spotify and included access to the Andriod/IOS app, offline songs on mobile, construction of playlists and favorites lists, and the ability to basically stream your own radio station to interested listeners.
As much as I am sad to see it go, it's sort of hard to deny that what it was doing wasn't blatantly illegal.
Are you sad to see it go?
