My own seat of Bolton South East is in: easy Labour hold, UKIP just beating Tories for second.

Now that's a shock, I thought he had a good personal following?

Lib Dems have held Southport, although lost Eastbourne.

Conservatives are holding tight some of the most marginal seats they held. If this trend continues and they can flip a few marginal seats from Labour, that's how the Tory majority is born.

538's model has the Conservatives at 311 already.

Tories have now gained Telford and Torbay, and held Lincoln.

Is Boris' hair always that bad?  He's single-handedly giving English barbers a worse reputation than English dentists.

According to the Telegraph Lib Dems are already predicting they'll be left with only 5 seats.

The shuffled hair look is Boris's trademark style.  The more ruffled the more Boris.

They have five already. Would be surprising if that is it.

Actually, looks like Clegg survived, making it, at least, 6.

Another broad observation on UK elections...I find it so interesting that they have the candidates up there and they get their votes announced publicly. Seems a bit like the teacher reading everyones grades in front of the class, which feels a bit awkward at first but I actually kind of like it.

Almost like a sporting event rather than an election.

you're absolutely right

I would add that the atmosphere is very friendly, civilized
