CON + LD are -8, LAB + SNP is +8.  is that just reflective of where the results are coming from, since everyone has agreed that Labour disaster is the only possible outcome?

why are you including the Lib Dems with the Tories and why are you including the SNP with Labour?

the first is easy: they've governed by coalition for 5 years.

That's dead. The Lib Dem has split to either the Tories, SNP, or Labour depending on the seat.

Eastleigh an easy Tory gain from the Lib Dems, with UKIP third, a bit of a change from the by-election.

Carswell holds Clacton for UKIP, so they have at least one seat.

Forgive my ignorance, but do any of the election results websites provide a list of the seats that have changed hands?  I don't see that as a feature on the BBC site.  They have the interactive map, but nowhere that simply lists seats that have swapped.

Tories hold Thurrock, UKIP in third place.

Carswell may well be UKIP's only MP.

Another broad observation on UK elections...I find it so interesting that they have the candidates up there and they get their votes announced publicly. Seems a bit like the teacher reading everyones grades in front of the class, which feels a bit awkward at first but I actually kind of like it.

Almost like a sporting event rather than an election.

Carswell may well be UKIP's only MP.

This comes as a shock, given both the wafer-thin Tory majority, and UKIP's strong performance in both Dagenham & Rainham and South Basildon & East Thurrock.

They really have been reduced to a few fringes once again. Some MPs may be able to hold on and keep the Lib Dems going on hibernation such as Farron, Carmichael, the Ceredigion MP, and possibly anybody in the West country. MPs who might somehow survive elsewhere (London?) should find a new party to have a hope.

I have been looking on numerous websites for the same, but haven't found a list yet.

The maximum the SNP can get is now 57, since they've lost 2. Hopefully the Conservatives will pull out Berwickshire.

Edinburgh might be a small area where Labour is able to hold on to a sliver of seats in the face of the SNP's sweep.

The SNP candidate got embroiled in a bunch of scandals including being a Twitter troll (!) so Bore's prediction proved accurate.

Definitely too early to draw a conclusion. So many of the seats changing hands are Scottish. All the Labour losses are staying on the same side of the equation but Lib Dems are being split by all three so they'll be losing quite a bit to the other side. I don't know how many Scottish seats they've lost so far, but it's almost certain to be 10 at the end of the night. That has to get factored out when comparing.
