Not the last twenty years of country music, no. I like the older stuff to a degree.

I love country.  Classic Country like Hank Williams, outlaw Country like Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Townes van Zandt and what is generally called alt-country or Americana, people like Jason Isbell, Justin Townes Earle and Lucinda Williams.

Alt-Country/Americana is definitely my favorite genre of contemporary music, there are great albums coming out every year.

As far as contemporary country music that gets played on the radio, I hate it and I never listen to it.

This tends to describe me as well.

It's generally not my favorite genre, and country can be pretty terrible, but some songs are nice (mostly older ones).

No (D).

Some of it in the '80s and '90s, though, was acceptable. John Anderson was pretty good. Before and after those two decades, though, I pretty much universally dislike it.

Yes, a lot.

Darryl Worley, Toby Keith, Josh Turner, Brad Paisley, Kenny Chesney, all good.

I absolutely love Johnny Cash.  Folsom Prison Blues is among my all time favorite songs.  That said, I can't stand most of what's played on the country stations.

Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard are the best.

Also, I totally concur with what bedstuy said about Alt-Country. One of the most underrated musical developments of the past two decades, that's for certain.

I despise what country has become, anything before around 1995 is o.k.

"Pop country" is boring and repetitive, classic country is much better

On the one hand, no one can deny that in terms of the skills of the musicians who play it, Nashville pop-country is very impressive.

On the other hand, it is Nashville pop-country. A corporate music/entertainment machine if there ever was one.
