Wyden is the leader of the "pro trade" Democrats and he wants a bunch of other bills advanced at the same time. This is just round 1.

Yup, anyone know the bills he wants pushed at the same time?

Yup, anyone know the bills he wants pushed at the same time?

It's a package of four bills, which include things like:

  • better assistance for workers who lose their jobs due to foreign trade
  • a TPP enforcement provision to combat stuff like child labor and currency manipulation among other TPP members
  • trade preferences for sub-Saharan Africa
  • aid to domestic steel and solar manufacturers

I couldn't find any actual bill summaries, just laundry lists of things that the four bills collectively have, so this isn't necessarily how those things are split among the bills by topic

Democrats will pass some version of TPP. Their too inherently pragmatic not to do it.

Don't worry about the President's misogynist remarks, SJWs.  Sherrod Brown and NOW are on this.

Nice try, but there was a diary claiming this on Daily Kos and the overwhelming majority agreed there was no sexism. Brown and NOW are off base on this one.

A majority of Daily Kos commenters translates to what exactly?

So the President is now depending on the Republicans to implement his legislative agenda?  What bizzaro world have we walked into?

I acknowledge a lot of people on the forum who oppose TPP have vocalized their opposition very well. Democrats in congress, however, seem to keep falling for stupid booby traps ("SEXISM").

Obama's response to Warren did have a bit of a patronizing "you tell 'em sweetheart, now sit down and shut up so the men can have their grown-up conversation" tone to it, so I don't think Brown was completely off base.

I can see the argument that it was disrespectful. Sexist seems like a stretch to me.
