Bump!

Mark Kirk, Ed Miliband, Robert Menendez, and (Sweden Democrat) Kent Ekeroth come to mind.

Can't think of any contemporary US politicians who fit. Maybe Mark Sanford.

Internationally, Guido Westerwelle.

Historically, maybe John Tyler.

John "Betray the Union" Tyler? You like that traitor? I consider him to eb the worst president we ever had.

I'm a Unionist of course, but consider his decision to join the Confederates reasonable in context, and think of him as a good President. I gave him 4/5 stars when we were doing Rate the Presidents. He fought for reasonable tariff policy against the Whigs, sacrificing his own popularity. Annexation of Texas was one of the expansionist moves of the time that made the most sense. His commitment to the Constitution was admirable. He didn't try to solve slavery, but neither did a bunch of Presidents often considered better than him.
