The reckless Islamo-fascist pseudo-dictator Erdogan strikes again and holds a campaign speech to 15.000 foreign Turks in Germany, with thousands outside to protest his illegal campaign speech (The President of Turkey is constitutionally banned from engaging in party politics):

The parliamentary elections in 4 weeks:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turkish_general_election,_2015

The German Turks make up 5% of the eligible electorate (2.5-3 million of ca. 60 million).

Erdogan is banned from campaigning as President, but since he is above the law and constitution he can do whatever he wants ... like any good fascist and pseudo-dictator.

Oh. Didn't realise those were coming up. Did he at least call on Merkel or someone? Would have been bad form if otherwise.

I'm not sure criticizing someone as a "fascist and quasi-dictator" for holding a campaign rally for a democratic election makes much sense, TB.

Yeah, Lief ... just cozy up with the dictators and fascists. Erdogan is both.

I wouldn't call him either of those things, no. Although Lief criticising someone for loosely throwing around "fascist" as a derogatory epithet is the height of irony.

Erdogan shouldn't interfere with elections outside of his country. This "wherever there is an XXX nationality, there is an XXX national" theme that people like Erdogan and Calderon like to spit out is dangerous.

He's not interfering with an election outside his country; he's campaigning for the 2015 Turkish general election.

Thus apparently breaking Turkish law, which apparently doesn't matter, because Turkey apparently has become a government of men, rather than one of laws, so the law is selectively applied by a toothless and/or corrupt judiciary.

Sure, but the president not being able to campaign in an election seems, to me, to be a profoundly silly law, so who cares?

Ah, I thought these were European Parliament elections. I somehow completely misread Tender's post earlier today.

When you're supposed to be one of those ceremonial figurehead independent presidents, it doesn't seem quite as silly.

Are you trolling or are you actually this unaware of Turkish politics?

Fine, I'll bite. Please explain why Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is all these things you accuse him of being.
