The lack of public support for the turncoat Labour Party, presumably.

They are still the throne behind the power, so to speak.

No point. They're essentially the ultimate lobbyists.

I've heard that Margaret Thatcher thought that the Queen was rather liberal/lefty.

The queen has a vested interest in keeping things the same. One might argue she is more 'conservative' than the Thatcherite brood. The Queen herself disliked Eden (who she regarded as nuts), Thatcher and Blair.

The Queen didn't like Margaret Thatcher butting in on her royal duties (IE, helping to entertain guests at Garden gatherings, insisting on helping out with the dishes, etc) IIRC, but I don't think they had as acrimonious a relationship as rumored.

No; one failed election does not mean that democracy doesn't work.

If you vote yes, you literally do not give a damn about freedom or democracy at all.

You probably shouldn't talk, given your support of dynastic politics, as evidenced by your signature.

Supposedly she said that the Queen was the sort of person who would vote SDP, or something like that.  (I'm not sure what the source of this is, mind.)

The SDP were basically a Moderate Hero party.

Monarchism isn't necessarily incompatible with freedom.

Yes, the monarch's traditional executive powers should be restored in addition to veto power over all legislation proposed by parliament (normal).
