I'm trying to think of anything that the term would accurately describe, but it's pretty difficult seeing as how most fascist nationalist movements in the Middle East (best example being the Ba'ath Party) have been pretty secular in outlook. While not Middle Eastern, Suharto's regime probably comes closest with the lip service paid to Islam as a sort of contrast against communism, but even then it was just a sort of veneer for the regime. Gaddafi's Frankenstein of an ideology also included elements from both Islamism and fascism, but it'shard to describe that as anything but "Gaddafist", as it basically existed solely for him to hold power.

Any better examples?

BRTD, even you know "fascist" isn't being used literally in this sense. Come on man.

That's the point BRTD is making, which is that it is a useless term used for the purposes of fearmongering.

Some elements of the Iranian system maybe?

I don't see how one could credibly claim that Iran is a fascist state.

Fascist is one of those terms that has morphed into becoming a catch-all phase for any gov't that suppress people's freedoms and seeks to destroy a certain group of people.
