Not anymore, no. It took me about 6-7 years to realize that it's really not worth it and no matter how much fun you have it's eclipsed by what happens the next day, but after that I've managed to cease doing it to excess.

Unfortunately, yea, I still find it to be a lot of fun.  Not nearly as often anymore, though... and not during the week at all since I started my new job.

What is binge drinking? Drinking so that you get drunk? Because I'm pretty sure I only drink alcohol when I'm "binge drinking" if that is the case.

I think it's meant drinking to get REALLY drunk.  The idea that drinking to get kinda drunk or even just drunk is bad is ridiculous.  What's the point, then?  Minor relaxation?  I guess that's fine, but it doesn't mean drinking to get drunk is inherently bad.

I guess you could say that there's nothing bad with a couple of cheat drinks a week.

What are "cheat drinks"?  Like, if you are quitting and you just have a couple?

Here's a definition.

For me, not very often.

I never get drunk unless I'm with a group of people who are really drinking.  And even when I am, I'm great at pacing myself.  I'll have 10 or 12 drinks in an evening and never really feel drunk or get a hangover, just because I paced myself and have a tolerance from drinking every day.

5 drinks in 2 hours is a lot, so pretty rarely by that definition. But usually when I drink alcohol the goal is getting drunk, unless it's just like a beer with dinner or something.

Once in a while but nowhere near as often as I did when I was age 22-24. The thing is I almost never get hangovers, so yeah.

I don't drink like I once did in college/law school, mainly because my body doesn't handle it as well. A long night of drinking knocks me out for an entire day, whereas before I could do it all over again the next day.

Four times this year so far. I think that's pretty good compared to a year ago.

I don't know what you mean by binge drink. I have a bad habit of getting drunk every weekend but it's pretty tame compared to what I think is meant. I might drink a bottle of wine in a sitting, and maybe more, in a relatively short amount of time.

But I don't get really really pissed often. I refuse, it's not worth it. I'd rather get pretty decently drunk and wake up in half decent condition than sh**tfaced and feel useless the entire next day.

Rarely. Even when out I don't really go overboard with booze.

No, that time is long gone.

I used to binge drink (like most Austrian teens) when at parties and out during the night, between the ages of 15 and 20, but that has since come to a standstill.

I only drink a beer and a cocktail once every few weeks now.

Damn, I'm old (27) ... Sad

Yeah, at least every Friday and Saturday, sometimes some week days.  I have the amazing fortune of not getting bad hangovers.

I have a drink or two or three most days, but if "binging" requires five in two hours, then geez, no way, I'm a lightweight.  These days, three at a time is my max, four on rare occasions.

I feel like sh*t if I have more than a couple of drinks. Age takes its toll. Thus I use that drug that is effectively legal in CA, but annoying not in NY.

5 drinks in 2 hours is the new 'clinical' definition, but it is really an appropriation of the term.  "binge" used to mean an extended, days-long, (to a greater or lesser extent) life-jeopardizing affair.  now it's the very mild 5 in 2 hours, which won't even get a reasonably fat male over the legal limit.

5 drinks in 2 hours is binge drinking? That's pathetic.

But, what is defined as 1 drink? Down here every bottle is required to show you how many "standard drinks" are in what you're buying. A bottle of wine is typically 7-9, one normal strength beer is about 1.3 (Light beer, 0.9). A 700ml bottle of vodka is about 21. Do they do anything similar in America these days?

no labeling, though the term is still used and defined the same way (12oz beer at 5%, 1.5oz shot at 40%, etc)
