was an exceedingly popular governor of what *could be* a competitive state in 2016.

Good choice actually.

Very impressive academic credentials combined with solid political experience and successful private sector leadership.

The fact he is from the northeast, however, does not really help.

I suspect Hillary will want someone from the Midwest or upper south.

The Dem VP nominee will probably not be a white male and definitely wont be from New England. Period.

Won't run. Not a Washington-type.

Yeah, he seems pretty likely to pass on being considered but the fact that he wouldn't run for senate regardless is more reason for her to pick him since it wouldn't. He'd be a good choice if he can handle foreign policy.

All the more reason to pick him. If he would do it.

Good idea on paper, but he probably doesn't want it and would probably be toxic to party insiders because he basically gave Kelly Ayotte her political career.

It would be a good choice, ensuring a Dem win in NH due to Lynch's extream popularity and name recognition. Would also reach out to moderates if they let Lynch play a big role in the election. That being said, he might be too moderate for the national Democratic Party and would be too much of an outsider.

He wouldn't be a bad pick for Hillary...but if she wants a non-New York Northeastern VP candidate, she's got better options (Deval Patrick, Elizabeth Warren, Peter Shumlin, Maggie Hassan, Howard Dean, Cory Booker, Michael Nutter, Ayanna Pressley and Jack Markell)
