so Hillary has jumped on the #womenon20s campaign and backs the pick of Harriet Tubman to replace Andrew Jackson on the 20 dollar bill.
http://time.com/3858943/hillary-clinton-harriet-tubman-20-dollar-bill/

While this may seem like a fringe issue, the US Treasurer has said it is worth considering, Obama has said he thinks it is a good idea and there are bills in both the House and Senate about this. The #womenon20s thing has been big on social media and I think it is a good issue for Hillary and low info female voters.

It would be interesting to see how GOP 2016ers respond to the question "do you support a woman/Harriet Tubman on the $20".  Any answer but yes helps reinforce the stereotype of the GOP as the party for old white men. But the GOP base could not be happy with the idea of a black woman replacing a southern (white) president.

I could not care less for the man that helped create the political apparatus that has the temerity to call itself the Democratic Party (points if your can name this movie reference Tongue), established the mode of majoritarian dictatorship as the model for future Presidents and promoted the principle of "by any means necessary" expedience on the part of both Parties but especially the Democrats when it comes to desired objectives. His militant hatred of banks and stubborn resistance to both all forms of sanity and reason helped to plunge this country into a Depression. Were it not for the untimely death of General Harrison, there may never have been a Jacksonian era, but instead he would be joining the list of failed Presidents along with his machine boss Martin Van Ruin.

The only thing Jackson can be credited with, are his steadfast desire to preserve the union and also the expansion of the suffrage, albeit to many an illiterate white racist farmer whose ignorance and prejudice he proceeded to take full advantage of against the banks, The Indians, blacks and anybody he perceived as being his enemy.

I'd rather have Frederick Douglass, Martin Luther King Jr, Cesar Chavez, or Elizabeth Cady Stanton on the $20.

I'd rather put Tubman on the $2 (and increase circulation) the $50 (Grant does not belong on currency), the Quarter (Washington does not need to be on two different pieces of currency) or the penny (Lincoln also does not need to be on two different pieces of currency)

Grant should be on currency not for his Presidency, but for leading the victorious Federal forces against the traitors.

Washington (winning Independence from the British Oppressors, setting up the Gov't under the constitution) and Lincoln (leading the country back together and abolishing slavery) probably deserve double billing (pun intended Tongue).

I'll give you Grant...but no one, no matter how important they are to our country deserves double billing on our currency.

So she has a position on which woman should be on the $20, but can't say her position on TPP? Pathetic.

A better idea would be reinstate the $1000 bill and put Tubman on that. Although Andrew Jackson is in definite need of replacement with someone.

Regardless of whoever lands on the $20 dollar bill, we really need to get rid of the genocidal maniac who is currently on it.

Hillary's right.  Tubman should replace that monster Jackson on the $20 bill.

Well, not regardless. There was a movement of right-wingers who after the 2004 election asked that Saint Ronald be put on the $20 bill. Tongue

I don't like Reagan, but he would be magnitudes better than Jackson.

I'm surprised your preferred option isn't to put the queen on our money and rejoin the British commonwealth

Is there any reason dollar bills can't just have rotating portraits? They're always changing quarters. I don't see why you have to keep one person on there indefinitely.

1. I can't stand anything about Jackson, so the less I see his face the better
2. The last think Jackson would have ever wanted was to be memorialized on a Federal Reserve Note

There is a bit of irony there, considering how he killed The Second Bank of the United States, but I think he might grudgingly acknowledge the need for a decentralized central bank like the FED in the contemporary era.
