Yes.  Although I oppose the death penalty, there's no way he was ever going to repent of his crimes.

My answer is yes, and I know a lot of people disagree with this viewpoint (I get quite a bit of heat for it), but here it goes.

I believe all lie is sacred and has inherent worth.  I believe all people are endowed by our Creator with our right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.  I also believe in the social contract.  We as a society say that when you do something very wrong (like robbing a bank), you have effectively broken your social contract by depriving others of their property (analogous to pursuit of happiness) and threatening people's liberty (as happens in a violent crime).  As such, you give up your property (in a fine) and liberty (prison sentence) in payment for your misdeeds against society).


When someone takes away multiple peoples' right to life, then I think that under a social contract, they logically forfeit their sacred right to life.  This is because they show their utter disregard for life by committing such a contemptuous act, and thus have violated society so much that this drastic penalty is justified.
