Seriously curious, and uncombatively, I ask... why do you consider yourself a Republican?
1. King has stated before that the New Mexico Democratic Party is almost cartoonishly corrupt and its leadership is inept beyond it being funny. He's also stated that he'd be more than willing to consider voting Republican at the national level if the party returned to more center-right solutions.
2. King is by no means some far-left liberal. You didn't insinuate this, so don't feel the need to be defensive, but we need more people like King, and by "people like King" I mean voters. There's more than enough room in a big tent party for someone like King, someone like me and someone like you. And only big tent parties win.
