Isn't this the same kind of thing that made some people not trust her back in 08? I think this article makes a good point about how while yes, Jeb has made some mistakes, he doesn't close himself off because of said mistakes. He's still out there meeting people and taking questions. Hillary on the other hand is blocked off to almost everyone, including the media, and she's not called on it. Double-standard much?

If Hillary is spending time with advisers preparing to answer questions, she'll be just fine, as I assume she is doing.  In fact, it's probably a relative advantage to spend time preparing rather than answering questions cold.

If she for whatever reason isn't prepared/briefed when she does decide to open up, then Hilldawg is screwed.  But unless her staff is utterly incompetent, they won't let that happen.

Why would she answer any questions from the sexist and anti-Clinton press?

Right, because the media is totally pro-Bush. If the media is being openly against you, call them on it; don't just square yourself away.

Hillary didn't do well with the press in 2008 either.

I'm not sure it's in Bush's best interests to be this open with the press anyway, given the media these days is either tea party based (Limbaugh, Hannity etc.) or Liberals who also strongly dislike him (Maddow, Todd, Stephanopoulos, Tapper).

But you see, Hillary Clinton doesn't have to convince us that she isn't a third term for George W. Bush.

The fact that he's had to do this just shows how weak he is at the politics game.

Oh please.

Is is the same week that he refused to talk about Iraq, and when he did he confirmed that he shared 100% the same view as his brother. A 18 year old student managed to outwit him-he's suppose to be this heavyweight (the smart bush!)

Well, I guess Jeb shouldn't have answered so many questions then, because he flubbed up big on the Iraq question. If you answer 800 questions, chances are at least 1 of those is going to be a huge flub up. Do we really want a president who doesn't understand probability?

I'll refer to Teddy Roosevelt who said "In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing." So yes, I'd rather have a person for president who gets out there and tries but occasionally makes a mistake, than a person who makes no mistakes by doing nothing, AKA Clinton.

I'll put you down as a maybe for a third Obama term.

Clinton has no reason to talk to the media at this point. She has the primary down, and won't have to actually start campaigning for a while. Unlike the GOP primary, where every candidate has to seek out cameras and microphones lest they be forgotten by the media and fade with the rest of the clown car candidates.

Once the actual primary starts, you'll see Clinton a lot more prominently.

Two things can be true at the same time:
1 Jeb completely f--ked up last week while talking to the press
2 Hillary is avoiding the press

Sorry Team Bush, but the second thing doesn't negate the first

Wow, not talking to the media nearly a year and a half from the next election.

I guess you don't need to alert the media about this 'story.'

Hillary really needs to answer the question about whether she supports fast track for TPP already.

Does she? The issue will likely be resolved one way or the other by the time the next president takes office.

It's a very important issue, and only a true coward would run for President while avoiding the issue.

She appears to be avoiding every issue, at least for now. Hence, this thread.

Pretty sure there are threads on this very board highlighting positions Clinton has taken in the last month, specifically in regards to criminal justice reform, police demilitarization, etc.

Actually that is worse. Her answers will be canned and fake.

Jeb is answering questions and putting himself out there because he needs to in order to have a chance in hell of winning the primary. Does anyone seriously believe he'd be doing so if he had Hillary's polling numbers?

Anyway, the media is not entitled to constant access to Hillary Clinton, particularly after their constant hit jobs. There will be plenty of time to ask her questions. In case the media hasn't noticed, the election is still 18 months away.
