And here's the next round:

This one's Alaska, to which there have been only 8 total in all its statehood, and it has been evenly split between Republican and Democratic.

The only two Senators who might be too obscured (Bartlett and Gruening) were New Deal Democrats instrumental in getting Alaska statehood in the first place.

My vote goes to Gruening since he voted against Tonkin and for his role in establishing 911 as the nationwide emergency number.

I really admire Gruening as well but I admire Bartlett for his legislative acumen as well as the West Wing.
