I haven't really paid any attention to these races but I'd imagine Conway is the favorite to win, no?

At this point, I'm starting to think so.
It all depends on if his margin in Louisville can make up for getting killed in coal country

He has to outperform Grimes in Coal Country though. He needs to find some Bruce Lunsford 2008 voters and get them to vote for him. Lunsford actually won a significant number if counties in that area.

It's a recanvass (i.e. making sure the counts from all the machines in the state were read and added together correctly), and it takes place on Thursday. An actual recount can be requested afterwards, though Comer has said he wouldn't take that step (Bevin has not ruled it out doing it should he end up behind post-recanvass).

Recanvass is nearly 50% done, no change so far in either GOV or AGCOMM.

All counties reported. GOV unchanged, AGCOMM has a 1-vote change. Certification June 8.

Grimes: no substantial changes. Bevin and Quarles will be certified.

Comer will speak tomorrow about the recanvass. He previously indicated he wouldn't seek a recount unless the gap was closed.

Am I the only one who believes that Bevin will be the new governor?

Am I the only one who believes that Bevin will be the new governor?

What's your reasoning behind this prediction?

"KY is a republican state" doesn't really work with its gubernatorial races, and the polling, the extremely close and divisive primary, and Bevin's positions/relation with leadership all point to a Conway Victory. The only thing pointing against Conway is his 2010 senate loss, but that was a senate race, not a governor's race, and it took place during a republican wave. There's plenty of time for things to change, and Conway's polling lead is by no means insurmountable, but he definitely has the current advantage.

Conway is still well bellow 50%, Republicans tend to outperform polls in Kentucky, and Conway is going to get slaughtered in the Eastern and western ends of the state

Plus, Conway was handily re-elected as Attorney General a year after the Rand Paul debacle.

Conway has a fairly narrow advantage but I don't think Bevin should be counted out.
