I object to Talleyrand's amendment. If you want to amend the new text back on this specific deletion issue then fine. But why reverse the whole of my amendment under the cover of keeping Sirnick out when that is but a small portion of the amendment's impacts?

I would also suggest possibly creating a specific sentencing clause for the Sirnick style deletion crime or tacking it onto the treason one.

A vote is open on the amendment to undo Yankee's amendment.

Senators have 72 hours to vote or until a clear majority exists to kill or pass the amendment.

Ridiculous. Tongue

Hey, remember all those people who kept screaming "it was just a game", when I objected to rimjob. Guess where most of those people are on this debate. Tongue

I wonder if they ban their friends from playing Monopoly "for the rest of their lives", if they catch them cheating. Because games are serious fing business people.

I suppose they get "pardoned" later on at some random, arbitrary date.

A vote is open on the amendment to undo Yankee's amendment.

Senators have 72 hours to vote or until a clear majority exists to kill or pass the amendment.

The undoing the amendment vote has failed 4-3.

We will now move to Senator Yankee's proposed amendments? I assume the more recent post is the correct text?

Any objections - 24 hours.

Yes, I improved the wording a bit and inserted the word malacious so as to not get people for accidentalyl deleting a booth or something. We don't want someone who accidentaly deletes one bill. We want Sirnick types basically.

Once this is amendment is done I will have another to add terrorism to the punishment section and attach to it a reasonable maximum sentence.

One of the odder tendencies I have noticed in Atlasian criminal law is to define a certain range of penalties and affix it to a large number of disparate crimes. It saves space, but is very much unlike IRL criminal law.

There are only so many punishments a game can dish out, so it's not surprising we have the same punishment for a wide variety of crimes.

To be honest I think if we're going to have a terrorism charge it should be one which has a possible life sentence.

I oppose life sentences. I don't like the idea of kicking people out permanently. Given the realities of this game, this is effectively a death penalty for a player, something we supposedly rejected in our constitution. Yes, such person can be theoretically pardoned, but let's not kid ourselves: executive acts of mercy are extremely rare.

Three years is a very long time for someone to mature and rehabilitate. It's perfectly reasonable.

I'll support Yankee's amendment.

I support the amendment and I echo Kalwejt's statement.
For a game as Atlasia, 3 years is a perfect time.
