Watch it live here if you have time to burn.

I looked around and couldn't find an already existing thread on this.

Excellent. I hope that Wyden and others join him.

He cancelled an event in Jupiter that I was planning on attending Thursday night. I'm so glad that he took time off the campaign trail to fight for what is right!

This is the Rand Paul I like to see, but I know he'll probably continue to warp his positions to help himself in the primaries.

Now I am all in favor of Paul doing this, but wouldn't it be better to wait until the Senate is actually debating the Patriot Act/NSA?

Wow, Wyden is an awkward speaker. No wonder nobody has looked at him for VP or the presidency.

Congress has until Friday to pass a bill; they go on holiday for Memorial Day weekend and won't be back until after June 1. So I imagine starting now gets him and Wyden the ability to say they each filibustered the Senate for 18ish hours.

I'm noticing that. A shame because he's really good on civil liberties.

Also C-SPAN took a funny shot at Lindsey Graham. If you click the link and scowl the bottom you can click on a linked to a video called "Lindsey Graham Fear Mongering."

Here comes Mike Lee. Hopefully his monotone doesn't put Paul to sleep.

Lee seemed more like a history professor than a public speaker. I would actually love to debate political history with him. He comes off as incredibly intelligent.

Very strange when the same people who called for Bush's impeachment over this will be supporting a candidate who voted for it during her tenure in the Senate, and continues to support it today.

Good for Rand. We need to have a discussion on this as a nation. We haven't had one. When anyone would speak out against these types of actions when Bush-Cheney were in the White House, they would accuse them of hating liberty and cozying up to the terrorists. Now is a better time than ever to discuss these policies. We can't let this become a normal thing. I normally disagree with Rand, but when it comes to civil liberties he is on point.

I'm absolutely loving the discussion between Manchin and Paul right now. They're literally having a public discussion and are trying to find common ground and understanding between each other. It's like they're using the Senate debate the way it was supposed to be used.

So this is what the august body, once known as the Senate, used to look and sound like.
