After a Huskies win, we head from the Pacific Northwest to the Old Northwest. This is the only grouping of schools I love more than the Michigan ones though the top ain't as strong. The Minnesota hockey-only schools add a lot to the depth, and many great Wisconsin schools are not even listed. Whitewater will be with the D2/3 schools, but then you got another 5 other great campuses that sadly don't meet the requirements.

Ultimately, it will almost certainly come down to the Battle for Paul Bunyan's Axe. Badgers versus Gophers - quite a fantastic rivalry.

I expected all the votes to be for Marquette because of their WI polls.

One of these I actually went to, so my vote is obvious.

Oh and it's MANKATO.

Voted Carleton, as I'll likely be applying there.

As an alumni, I'll be curious to hear how your application goes.

As for the team, how can you go wrong with a school that hosted the only NCAA-approved football game using metric measures.

Yes, I was in the stands that day.

Johnnie fans are amusing. They despise UST especially and hate other schools and proclaim their God given dominance but have a very brittle tolerance for being given it in reverse. Loved seeing them have their asses handed to them the last few years in football, unfortunately it appears they back.

I don't know about the years you were there, but there was no credit given to a win over Carleton. There was of course some shame in losing to them, since so few did.

Carleton has not beat SJU once since it began playing them in 1983.  But then, Carleton is known for brains, not brawn.

The main enemy for us were, of course, the Tommies... And the biggest rival for skill was Concordia Moorhead.

But yes.  Johnnies love to feel smug and superior...especially to the Bennies.
