Absolutely. Black olives are delicious. Anytime my mom or my grandma makes Mexican for dinner, there have always been black olives for tacos and/or burritos (my family has often had the occasional build-your-own taco/burrito night). It really is a highly underrated food though.

Why do black olives come in cans, but green olives come in glass jars?
Racism! just another example of the darker ones being oppressed!

Actually, there's a real reason for the difference.

The process of making black olives requires that for them to be safe they have to be processed at higher temperatures.  Those higher temperatures require the use of cans rather than the more attractive jars.

Yes. Olives ruin anything they touch.

Interesting. Was not aware of that, never looked into it, but as someone who likes both green and black olives, and as someone who puts them on salads, I've always wondered that. I have managed to find a resealable can/container of black olives at Wal-Mart, and I usually get those. It's handier and takes up less space in the fridge than opening the can and then looking for a container to pour them into for storage.
