http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/transport/general-motors/10740862/General-Motors-accused-of-criminal-behaviour-and-cover-up.html

General Motors chief executive Mary Barra came under withering attack for her company's decade-long failure to deal with defective parts linked to fatal crashes, in a hearing where US Senators accused the company of "criminal" behaviour and "a culture of cover-up".

Would you ever buy a General Motors vehicle after the ten year cover up of faulty ignition switches which resulted in deaths and injuries?

No, but I find GM cars are ugly as sin anyway so I never would have.

I wouldn't drive one anyway.  Maybe if somebody gave me a 'vette (C5 or newer) or Camaro (only the newest one) I'd drive it a bit before I sold it.  The Cruze is supposed to be pretty good (for an American made small car), past that everything they make is garbage or just doesn't interest me.

Nope, GM's all about the tacky designs, sh[inks]y mileage, and parts that fall apart after 100,000 miles.

And who has the money for all those things?

If I ever buy a car, it will almost certainly be a Chevrolet. Volt or Colorado depending on my needs. They're fine.

Yep - I have a Cobalt right now, and my next car is a Camaro.  It's time I upgraded.  Cool

The only GM vehicles I would ever go near are their trucks and truck-based SUVs. My family swore by Chevy Suburbans when I was growing up. I wouldn't buy one new, though. I have very little respect left for them at this point.

If I want an American car, I will buy a Ford.

GM cars aren't meant for you to actually buy.  They make them so the car rental places have a lower end option so you upgrade from an Aveo or a Cobalt to a better car.

This.  I drive a Hyundai Azera, though Fords are pretty good.  GM is just never a car company I've trusted all that much.
