I wouldn't worry about it; Root is a fairly common name. It'd be like sharing a last name with Andrew Jackson, or Truman. Not as common as Johnson or something like that, but still a low likelihood of close relation. Maybe a third or fourth cousin at worst.

I guess it makes sense that the personification of everything wrong with the Libertarian Party would endorse the personification of everything wrong with American capitalism and popular culture.

I do note that a lot of Presidents, including Reagan, who is deified as a "strong leader", could not bring themselves to fire subordinates.  Had Reagan been able to push the "Your Fired!" button, Iran-Contra may well have never grown to the level it did.  Carter didn't push the "Your Fired!" button until it was too late, and the firings too political-looking.
