I don't see any reason to oppose it. It's from a lot of time that the Midwest states are renamed and known with these names.

I'd like to present this amendment with the addition of the names of the provinces:

I don't really see a reason why we should ackonweledge this loonyism on the federal level. If the regions want to this, good for them, they shall if it pleases them. But this does not mean that we will need to rubber-stamp this on the federal level. How hard can it be to use names everyone understands?

Also did they seriously give Manitoba a name with a spelling error in it?

Instead of hard-coding this in law, just state that the regions may designate the set of names by which the federal government will recognize them.

I love the idea behind this because I love how the Midwestern style even when I'm from another region. But I also think that Talleyrand's idea is a little more sensible ^^
