There are certain types of music that, while good, just don't make good Anthem music, for one reason or another. This includes a lot of the music that I like, too. If New Jersey ever adopts a state anthem, it will be a Bruce Springsteen song, almost beyond all reasonable doubt.

As bedstuy put it before, I basically only listen to a few "incredibly specific types of post-punk music" and virtually nothing else.

I found it a tad dull. I've heard one Springsteen song I actually did like though (The theme song of The Wrestler.)

Also I like this song and supposedly the band is a sort of heavily Springsteen-influenced punk.

Springsteen sucks.  I would be embarassed if my state ever adopted that hick crap as an anthem.  And the correct answer is Bohemian Rhapsody.

I like the arrangement and lyrics on "Thunder Road" but BRTD isn't wrong about it being kind of dull

That's not something to be proud of!

As Maddy just said... what.  the. Christ.

Bohemian Rhapsody is a fine song but what the hell does it have to do with NJ?

"No Surrender" would be a much better Springsteen song for a state anthem.
