As it says on the tin; could someone who was more charismatic and an overall better politician with identical political views and same positions on the issues as Bernie Sanders win an election?

As long as he/she identifies as a socialist, no.

Sherrod Brown would have a better chance, if that's what you're asking.

They're a heck of a lot more similar to each other than they are to Hillary.

I think the main difference between Brown and Sanders is than one is calling himself a socialist and the other don't.

People focus too much on the word socialist. Huey Long was well to Sander' left on economic issues.

Sanders is very charismatic, and an excellent politician in my book.

There would be little difference in practice between a Brown, Sanders, or Clinton administration.

Guy, Brown sounds like he gargles with sandpaper every morning. He's fun, but he's not charismatic

Basically, a President calling himself a socialist would only be possible once the Cold War cohort is reduced to below 40% of the voting population AND the US is a majority minority nation.

If you're going to be picky about charisma, Hillary isn't exactly charismatic, either.

Neither is Sanders, so I don't see a problem here.

A better politican than Sanders may not call himself a socialist. Food for thought.
