It's been a while since I've laughed this hard.

Atlas is a never-ending source of black comedy.

Democrats, who reign supreme over the American ghetto, would rather force those hapless people to give birth into the Democratic failed welfare state, than tell a despot to stop committing mass murder and genocide.

Americans, particularly young Americans, have a weird subconscious obsession with making the world a much worse place.

Pro-Life dove, I'm Pro-Choice but abortion is ultimately a judicial decision and even if Roe V Wade was overturned it's not like New York would outlaw abortion. OTOH if the pro-life dove was so pro-life that they favored a federal ban and/or constitutional amendment that would make the decision more difficult, I probably wouldn't vote for either in that case.

All else being equal, a pro-life dove.  Although being pro-choice isn't a deal breaker for me, I prefer pro-life and socially conservative candidates.  Plus, Mark Hatfield was a pro-life dove, so that makes it an easy decision.

It really depends how you define "hawk." If you're one of the people who thinks Barack Obama is a hawk, then option 1. If you're talking about Cheneyesque characters, then option 2.

Pro-life and don't care about hawk vs dove in the abstract. Foreign policy is too nuanced to merit an overarching decree of intervention or lack thereof. And even if it weren't, there are few things I personally care less about than American foreign policy. To go to war? Not to go to war? All of the options are bad anyway.

Absolutely the latter for President. The President doesn't single handedly determine abortion policy, but does single handedly make the middle east even more of a mess. Hillary is pretty much the definition of a pro-choice hawk.

Apparently believing that we should not let maniac dictators butcher their people when we could stop them or believing that terrorists should be droned when the situation presents itself makes you a warmonger hawk these days, so I pick pro-choice hawk.

Of course Atlas is full of misogynistic terrorist-coddlers, so the results here are not surprising.

Bill Clinton wasn't hawkish enough. He should have intervened in Rwanda. Thus, pro-choice hawk.

Pro-Choice Hawk.
But only in the sense that I believe wars sometimes truly can't be avoided and must be fought.

As for the question in the OP, context is certainly important. In the U.S. context of the present day, where 'dove' means someone who opposes imperialist war for profit and plunder, I'd obviously choose that person, warts and all, over the malignant tumor upon society that is imperialism and its apologists. Of course, in a socialist society, where a 'hawk' would be someone that is committed to world revolution and the destruction of capitalism everywhere, I'd be all for the person that is a 'hawk' in this instance, because they'd also support the liberation of women from forced childbirth.

No, TNF, my concern for human rights and the rule of law extends beyond the borders of the United States, regardless of who is president. I wish yours did as well, but I understand it's easier to just bleat on about how evil and imperialistic the United States is.

Sure, we'll see about that when Jeb Bush invades Iran.

Obviously I don't support idiotic military campaigns like that. What Obama did in Libya (or what he should have done in Syria) is in no way comparable to a ground invasion of Iran, and you know that (and as I've made clear many times on this forum, Iran has a right to nuclear energy, so I would not support attacking them, regardless of which president ordered it).
