Eggs and fish for breakfast, then we went to the club for a couple of hours.  I worked on my core for about an hour while the boy played in the kidmazium and my wife did some Zumba class.  Or maybe it was yoga.  Who knows?  Then we played in the big pool for about an hour.  We came home and had chicken tacos with cilantro from our garden for lunch.  Then we went to Lenscrafters in the mall.  I hadn't planned on driving today but during a dodgeball episode at the kidmazium my son managed to lose one of his nosepads and since tomorrow is sparring day at Tae Kwon Do, I figured we ought to get it replaced today.  While there we got him a cheap shirt at Kohl's.  (30% off coupon of the already cheap 80% off clearance rack.  Cool tee though, bright red with a print featuring guitars and skateboards.)  Then I took a long bicycle ride up and down the mountain trail with the boy.  Got a few scratches, but no broken bones.  Then we grilled.  Shrimp on the Barbie, as it were.  Beef as well.  I did skewers with medium thawed and peeled shrimps rubbed with cumin, cayenne, and garlic powder.  Also we did some skewers with thin sliced ribeye on it.  I soaked half the steak cuts in Baby Ray's barbecue sauce (for the boy) and half of them in a mixture of worcestershire sauce, Merlinda's XXXXTra Reserve hot sauce, and Pick-a-Peppa.  Also we sauteed some fresh broccoli and cauliflower and mushrooms in oil and finely-diced garlic.  Not much besides cilantro ready in the garden yet, although the strawberries are starting to turn pink.  We also had store=bought potato salad and canned baked beans.  Polished off a bottle of Nero D'avola and am now on my second margarita.  (old style, of course.  equal parts cointreau, tequila, and fresh-squeezed lime juice.  None of that "Margarita Mix" shit in my house, in case you were wondering.)

voted for TV, enchilada caserole, and kiddie party.

Saturday was a kiddie party of sorts. My girlfriend's brother was the guest of honor at a diaper fund party with us guys while his wife and unborn daughter were the guests of honor at a baby shower. Last night and this morning were spent with my girlfriend.

Turned up, had a cookout with squad, and went to a bar. Alone. Because I'm one of two friends who's 21 in our group.

Naps and TV, except the naps were because I'm sick or something and the TV was Gilmore Girls. In terms of celebrating America, I listened to Rhapsody in Blue and the Iris DeMent version of 'Leaning on the Everlasting Arms', which is sort of relevant to American military and law enforcement history in that it was used in the Coen Brothers True Grit.
