1) partisans spend all their time attacking the other side. Didn't they know George Washington didn't like political parties?

2) if David Cameron was in the USA, he would be too left-wing for the Green Party nomination. I know this because healthcare.

3) Nixon was the most successful socialist in US history. This is because he created the EPA and landed on the moon, notoriously socialist activities.

4) we should legalise weed.

5) politicians don't like understand us. They should earn minimum wage, so they can understand us better.

6) the GOP should become fiscally conservative, but socially liberal (like me lol) if it is to survive

7) the Democrats should become socially liberal, but fiscally conservative (like me lol) if they are to survive.

Cool Both parties are the same nowadays and don't stand for anything. They are also too far apart and unwilling to compromise with each other.

9) we need a third party

10) we should legalise weed.

11. The Democratic and Republican parties of the 1920's are almost finished with their transformation into each other.

Mitt Romney was still able to win the republican nomination and hasn't Cameron's administration been obsessed with banning porn? that is almost Santorum territory

No, the Democrats should become the opposite of my view because they are the party of the common man, and I am so incredibly unique with my many abilities not a mooching commoner. Also they kill Asians. I don't want to be associated with that.
Of course, this strategy could never work, so maybe they should just adjust to my view - the American mainstream.

[A+ spot on. Amazing you can see this from all the way over there.]

Yeah I understand the frustration at the whole "European right-wingers are left of the Democrats!!11!!" myth.

Yeah.  We should pay politicians nothing and make them come home every week.  Surely that will solve our problems. Smiley

Fun fact: Kshama Sawant once met David Cameron and said "Wow, that man is a raging lefty". In Britain TNF would probably be the head of UKIP and President Obama wouldn't even to be able join the far-right BNP (because he's so neoliberal, probably).

(Seriously though, the quixotic anti-pornographic thing is very much overstated on the Internet. If I was to sit and list out all the top hundred things I oppose about David Cameron, a) I'd have very tired arms and b) Porn wouldn't arrive till like, the high eighties.)

This perfectly encapsulates why I hate Beltway conventional wisdom, why it's stupid, and why it's usually wrong. Good show sir. I commend you.

The new Labour leader should endorse all my politics or else it will lose all its votes to UKIP. My politics would start with dropping the union link and being 'aspirational' and liberal. By doing this Labour can stop becoming the party of the metropolitan elite.

Oh wait, you said US politics.

Also, Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Ronald Reagan, and Jesus of Nazareth would have been Democrats if they were around today. Obviously.

One hard-core Democrat I was talking to basically believed that any politician out of office since Obama was President would now be a Democrat.  He said George W. Bush and Dick Cheney would probably be considered Democrats now. Tongue

Some of this silliness is just insane.

Uh, Obama wouldn't be able to join the BNP, but that's not why...

Some Canadian ones:

1) The Liberals and NDP should merge after one Conservative majority to stop Harper. This merger will happen flawlessly with no voters jumping ship despite the Liberals and NDP running against each other for the past 80 years.

2) The Conservative Party is at risk of splitting and should let the Red Tories run things even though the Red Tories presided over an actual party split.
