British election nights move so slowly, way moreso than American election nights.  It just adds to the suspense!

The daily telegraph has a live feed of Sunderland vote counting. Exciting viewing.

Which cuts both ways; there's lot of black voters and Asian voters in council housing as well.

Sky are suggesting that a UKIP private poll is showing 52-48 to Leave, but they're sceptical whether it actually does show that.

52-48 either way depends entirely on turnout.

One thing is certain. The British electorate is far more in favor of Brexit in percentage terms than parliament.

Wow, 52-48 means we won't know for a LONG time.  Exciting!

Well AFAIK UK elections are declared by counting area and that's the final count so we'll know for sure once all areas declare (presumably by tomorrow?), it's not a slow trickle of results like in the US

why would Farage be conceding defeat if UKIP's internal polling indicated they had won?

ITV reporter just said Farage's private polling suggested Leave had just edged it but that with turnout being so high they're now pessimistic that that is what has actually happened.

@RadioClydeNews: Counting Officer's spokesman says turnout in #Glasgow for #EUref was around 24% by mid afternoon. Apparently "quite high".

Huh

What time EST will the BBC broadcast begin and I found a link to BBC 1, live stream.
http://www.zoptv.com/live/bbc-one

Can one of the posters that live in the UK verify that, that stream is the actual live stream.

I don't live in the UK, but I live close enough to the Northern Ireland border to be able to pick up BBC and the other British channels on digital.

Not sure about BBC 1 (it's showing Northern Ireland news on live television here), but

http://www.zoptv.com/live/bbc-news

is the correct stream, even if about a minute time-delayed.

I hope it's a typo - although a number of people on Twitter are suggesting that their polling station ended up at around 35-40% turnout (Central Glasgow). Scotland may have a much lower turnout than expected, if ture.

That just makes no sense to me? How can england have 75%+ turnout and scotland have 40%??

That would be amazingly good news for Leave if true as Scotland is likely to be the strongest Remain region of the UK.

Glasgow tends to be around 10-15% lower than the Scottish average. Scotland could be 50-60% turnout, if these figures turnout to be final. It'll be a few hours before we know though.
