UKIP remain voters might figure the following:  Well, the powers that be will always insist on more immigration, so we might as well have more Poles, Rumainians and Slovaks, instead of more Ghanians, Somalis and Sri Lankans.

Is Farage always this blatantly honest?  It's strange to see him talking about potentially losing when none of the votes are even in yet.  Politicians usually put up a brave face no matter the result.

He keeps talking about how "we might have lost the battle, but we will win the war" and that the fight will go on.  Sounds extremely pessimistic.

Viva Gibraltar!

They should have let Jersey, etc. vote as well.

"Newcastle is now expected to be a marginal result for remain, which would be well below expectations"

Channel Islands are not in the EU. Neither is the Isle of Man.

I know. But it would have been great if their citizens voted Smiley

Newcastle was expected to be a big Remain vote ( 60% or so) if you are for leave, this is good news...

All 'expectations' are based on very dubious statistical modeling: you should not read much into them either way.

When you're an anti-immigrant demagogue, the rules change and you can be as honest as you like. He was also just "honest enough" to complain about a 48 hour extension in the voting registration period, because it would probably hurt his side.

And "honest" enough to use a picture of Syrians entering Slovakia to scare everyone about hordes of Muslims entering the UK

This will be a comfortable win for Remain.

Let's be honest: almost none of those Syrians want to stay in Slovakia; they are merely passing through it.

LOL, BBC website considers Gibraltar part of England.
It's counted as part of the South West of England for electoral purposes in European elections.

I think people need to post whether a given result is good for leave or remain. As a layman I have no clue whether 60% leave in some Welsh place means anything substantial. Sad
