@Bro-mentum

Hey, just curious: Why do you think that Glasgow NorthEast/East & Banff and Buchan will vote to leave?

I don't think this, the regression model detailed above did.  If any areas in Scotland did vote to leave, I doubt it would be these ones.  Also, please note this is how areas would vote compared to average in a 'tie' type situation.  If the outcome is a 'remain' vote nationally I suspect it would be by a wider margin and therefore said constituencies would probably vote remain.

Cool thanks

What time EST will the BBC broadcast begin and I found a link to BBC 1, live stream.
http://www.zoptv.com/live/bbc-one

Can one of the posters that live in the UK verify that, that stream is the actual live stream.

I don't live in the UK, but I live close enough to the Northern Ireland border to be able to pick up BBC and the other British channels on digital.

Not sure about BBC 1 (it's showing Northern Ireland news on live television here), but

http://www.zoptv.com/live/bbc-news

is the correct stream, even if about a minute time-delayed.

Thanks for the stream link! Smiley

Wow this is a great stream!

Congratulations to all those who are no doubt delighted: Putin shills, PRC bots, trots, fascists, Nazis, reprobates, people who plan on being dead in the next year, anti-Semites, peddlers of Violence, and those who despise Britain and wish to see the Perfidious Albion fail

Everyone cheering for economic destruction is hilarious utterly depressing.

Pound is the lowest it's been since 1985.

You realize they will not be able to afford to buy our stuff anymore right?

The US is never going to let the UK lose their veto in the UN.  Not gonna happen!  Hate to burst all of your anti-British bubbles.

*anti-English bubbles

Britain is dead, expect a Kingdom of Scotland and a United Kingdom of England and Northern Ireland.

Shouldn't that be United Kingdom of England, Wales and Northern Ireland?

Still waiting on the result in Havering (just to see how great the Leave margin will be)

Wales always gets the shaft. I know it won't happen, but I wish NI said seeya and teamed up with Scotland or Ireland. Then England would be left with Wales and Wales only.

Lol, the crying is so rampant among some of you right now. This comment is irrational. To want NI and Scotland to leave is borderline insanity.

How in the world is it borderline insanity to defend keeping Scotland in the UK anymore? England is moving more and more to the right while Scotland is solidly progressive, and now England has dragged Scotland out of the EU. These countries are so overwhelmingly different and one has considerable power over the other. Scotland deserves a government that fairly represents then.

There have always been and will always be reasons in favor of Irish unification, and this is just another reason in favor. I would be surprised to see it happen, but obviously there is some significant difference of opinion between NI and England.

Let the Scots vote on independence. But this time around it'll be proper independence, complete with euro and oil at a fraction of the price where it was 2 years ago. Last time they couldn't even get a majority for independence lite, complete w/ Queen and pound and oil at >$100.

I am pretty sure they are happy to go for euro, Schengen, and the entire thing. They might keep Elizabeth I: Englishers do not have a monopoly on her anyway.

I hope Scotland keeps the monarchy. It's harmless and still good for tourism. Otherwise, by all means Scotland should get out.

If Scotland wants to peace out, they should drop the queen.  They won't deserve her at that point. I would hope she would reject them.

Scotland has just as much right to the monarchy as England does. King James was king of Scotland before he was king of England.

Don't let the DOW futures ruin your fantasyland celebration. There's no way those pesky "facts" about Brexit being bad for the economy were true...

Even as a Brixiter it feels a bit unreal today.

Only for a brief few days in early June did I think Leave could win when several opinion polls showed large Brexit leads.

By the weekend that had changed and continued to change during this week so I was confident that Remain would win the day in the end.

As early as the Newcastle and Sunderland results it looked promising for Leave and apart for results in Scotland and London the results were a consistent Brexit majority in most polling areas.

As Janet Daly said on Dateline London following President Obama's intervention and the subsequent negative reaction to it by British voters "history shows that the British are a resilient lot and refuse to be bullied".

Not understanding that character trait of the British people was one of the main errors of the Cameron and Osborne campaign strategy.

And so it proved last night Smiley
You really think Obama had anything do with the result?

Has it really been so long that you have forgotten that Obama is the antichrist? He's a Muslim socialist, and you know that a Muslim socialist would never have electoral success in the uk..
