Craven, opportunistic.

EDIT: Oops, I meant to type "vaguely liberal /centrist in an American context in the most utterly cliched, calculated, and mainstream/safe way imaginable," but for the sake of brevity...

Center-left, she's not like Zell Miller, Joe Lieberman, and even Tulsi Gabbard.

I believe we had this question before and I'm pretty sure that we settled on Hillary Clinton's ideology being Hillary Clinton.

between center and center-right.  depends on which way the wind is blowing.  her time as head of the Clinton health care reform team likely scared any old-school left-liberal sentiment out of her forever.

I suppose we all look from different locations, huh?

I'll go with the obvious answer of center-left, but what's she really center on?  She's a mainstream Democrat.  Like mainstream Republicans today, that has come to mean NOT near the center.

In an American context center-left. Probably center in the rest of the world. But....

I believe we had this question before and I'm pretty sure that we settled on Hillary Clinton's ideology being Hillary Clinton.

Hillary Clinton doesn't have an ideology, she only takes positions that serve her political interests. I don't expect that she'll govern much differently.

Left wing, more so than Obama or her husband.

Actually, I would certainly argue that Obama ran to her right in 2008, especially on issues of education reform, trade, and that sort of thing, but with the caveat that this is Hillary Clinton we're talking about, and she and her husband are notorious poll chasers who will take whatever position gets them the power they so desperately crave. Hence her hilarious embrace (with John McCain, no less!) of the gas tax holiday back in 2008.

Yeah Obama wasn't the "progressive/left-wing choice" in the 2008 election - even by the standards of the Democratic Party. In that context, it was Edwards (before his scandals and disgrace).

Obama was a great salesman - he sold himself as both to the right and left of Hillary Clinton.

True, but it's also easy to "sell" what certain people already want to buy.

It's even easier when your message was as vague as Obama's was.
