A couple of comments she that are quoted in the article are worse in my view than the quote that is the headline, to wit, "“If you don’t want to be killed by ISIS, don’t go to Syria. If you don’t want to be killed by a Mexican, there’s nothing I can tell you.”

To the extent that what she says is a current within the republican party... she guts the credibility of the Republican party.

American has a large and fast-growing Hispanic middle class, and in some states the bulk of that Hispanic middle class is of Mexican origin. To be sure, every ethnic group has its resentful, greedy losers who turn to crime... but that is far from the whole story. The big stats say that Mexican-Americans are far less likely to get into trouble than most other groups at the same level of income. Their life expectancy is higher; they smoke less and are less likely to binge-drink. Texas, not a rich state, fares better than states comparable in income (like Oklahoma, Alabama, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Georgia) on measures of public health because its poor people are more likely to be Hispanic. In the 1995 Chicago heat wave, Hispanics were 'only' 2% of the heat-related deaths -- despite being much poorer and thus less likely to have an air conditioner. But this could reflect that Mexican-Americans are more likely to look out for each other. Maybe they are more likely to keep the windows open and run a fan because they less fear crime than the danger of heatstroke. Maybe they are more likely to make sure that someone in trouble gets help.

Not smoking; not binge-drinking; looking out for each other... such sounds promising.

Keep insulting Mexican-Americans, and the Republican Party can face more widespread and severer defeats.

At this point, she sounds like a GOP candidate for president.

You need to be a long-legged creature that every hard core conservative thinks is a hot bombshell and wanks it to  her image each night to get away with this stuff.  Oh, wait, never mind.

Plus - making Ann Coulter threads has to be trolling.  Reporting the thread as such.

You'd have many excellent qualities Grumps, but the potential of being a good lawyer is not one of them. Good lawyers know how to correctly box things into the correct category. Who knew?  Smiley

Ann Coulter says something intentionally outrageous.

Next newsworthy topic: cat begs to be lets out, then doesn't move when you open the door.

I was shocked when I saw the headline of this thread.
I mean who knew that Ann Coulter still exists.

Because if there's one person whose image would be instantly restored by just having the context of his comments remain intact, it's Ann Coulter.

Having read a few of Ann Coulter's books, she's not quite as crazy as her comments make her out to be, though she is very, very far right.

Ann Coulter has been saying crazy stuff forever though, so this is no surprise.

She's hilarious, witty, and bright.  "Mugged" was her absolute best.  Got this one on my Amazon Prime.  Really excited to read it in a coffee shop somewhere in the Mission.

Not everyone gets it.  There was this one atheist kid in my CS class who loved to talk about how there's "no evidence" for God's existence, so I just went full-blown creationist on him and spouted Ray Comfort arguments like "You think evolution is true?  Well take a junkyard and give it a million years.  You won't get a 747, genius."  A fair number of people thought I was being serious.

She's as bright as her hackishness will allow, in one of her latest columns she's still supporting the Iraq war, which most serious conservatives have abandoned.

Why don't they ask Hillary about that vote since she's one who actually took it?

If Republicans hate illegal aliens so much...why don't they introduce a bill making it an actual crime to be in this country without permission?

It is a crime to enter illegally but that is almost impossible to prove unless caught in the act, and when that happens deportation usually occurs unless there are extenuating circumstances. It is not a crime to overstay a tourist or work visa and remain here. Why don't they enter a bill making it illegal to remain in the US without permission?

I think Republicans are on both sides of the fence; they get cheap labor for the business crowd and they also get to be outraged that immigrants are here without documentation a la Ann Coulter.

Unfortunate choice of wording in this case.
