2016 will just be the extremeness of Cruz and Carson, like generic tea-party stuff. The majority of them like Paul, Cruz, Bush and Rubio are good performers and know how to run a campaign,

2012 on the other hand had people who should not of been let near a school board election, let alone POTUS. I mean look at Hermain Cain-his uze-becki-becki-stan-stan comments just how how ing hilarious the guy was. Along with Gingrich's plan to have kids clean schools and Perry saying oop's. 2012 has the most infamous gaffes

Bush is not a clown.

Cruz is not a clown.

Rubio is not a clown.

All three have solid credentials.

Santorum and most of the others should not be classified as clowns, but rather as lightweights and under qualified.

Less,

There was no one really qualified in 2012 besides Romney and perhaps Perry. In 2016, there are numerous serious qualified candidates.

The clown car is the Dem side.

A corrupt old hag
A scandanavian socialist wannabe
a failed mayor and governor of MD
a scots-irish neoconfedrate

Perry? Qualified? What a joke!

All three are unabashed climate change deniers. All three publicly supported Indiana's Religious Freedom Restoration Act. Bush likes to talk about how much he likes "scientific racist" Charle Murray, and he's tripped all over his clown shoes on the Iraq War. Ted Cruz's public advocacy for theocracy put him in the clown car even before he pulled a Strom Thurmond on Obamacare while reading Green Eggs and Ham. Rubio dog-whistles creationists about how old the Earth is, when he's not busy telling everyone how he thinks ISIS and Iran are on the same team.

They're all evil idiot clowns, and they will all willingly keep doing whatever slapstick they think will get them votes from the right wingnuts, no matter how stupid it is.

In terms of size, it'll outdo 2012 by far. In terms of ratio of nutjob whackos to total candidates, it'll be less. There's more serious candidates this time around, whereas in 2012, it was pretty much just Romney (out of the people who made it past NH). In 2016, the establishment candidate's biggest roadblock won't be some religious PA senator in sweater vest.

I voted about the same, but the fact we're having this conversation speaks volumes to the status of the Republican Party.

Regardless of your personal vehemence towards and your virulent contempt for these public servants, all three are very intelligent, competent, and well educated, and would be capable Chief Executives.

What is a 'clown' really? A longshot? Was Pawlenty a clown? Was Huntsman?  Obviously Bachmann and Cain were clowns, but was Santorum? He won 11 states but remember 'blah people'?

I guess clown is in the eye of the beholder but 2016 certainly has the possibility for more clownishness. Obviously Trump is a clown but many others have high potential to get in the clown car including Graham, Carson, Cruz, Huckabee, Fiorina, Santorum and Jindal.  Even Walker has got close to the car without getting in so he has potential clown moment.

What do you know?  They're Republicans and conservatives.  You may not know this, but the Democrats do not have all the right positions and contrary to my Oklahoma friend's opinions, the Republicans don't hold all the right answers, either.  Both parties are hideously incompetent and corrupt.  They are what we have, though, so we have to deal with the hand we have been dealt, so that's all the trashing I'm going to do this morning.

In all seriousness and to answer the poll, I agree with the echoes of more candidates, but fewer baboons.  There are a few candidates that actually have a shot and all the candidates except Bush or Cruz are better than Hillary.  I will vote any of the Republicans over Hillary, but Hillary over Bush or Cruz.  Bush because of Common Core and Cruz because he shut down the government over a petty argument and to me that's not an action of someone who wants to take the highest office in the world.

No one in 2012 was quite as much of a joke as Trump. Instead of Cain, we have Carson. Santorum and Perry are running again. Cruz is out there, and Huckabee is off his rocker, too. Christie is a loose cannon, and Walker is a bit unhinged.

Jeb Bush and Walker going at like Perry and Romney. Then, you have Trump who acts like Gingrich, the concilliator. Kasich who is the Jon Huntsman, who thinks he can beat Dems, but not get his chance.

So, far, it is costing them in polls right now.

I agree that at least Rubio and Bush have the potential to be competent Presidents. But when it comes to campaigning for the nomination, all three have put on the same silly makeup and are honking the same horns as the decidedly non-serious members of their party. I don't care what they want to be when they grow up. Right now, they're clowns.
