We both know they are great friends. I don't see them going after each other in the debates. How possible is it that they could be waiting and seeing who does better, so that the other could drop out, giving their support to the one with the greater chance? This new surge of momentum from either support base may be a game changer, and combined, would give whoever stays in a lead. It seems like a reasonable theory.

I don't get how any of Rand Paul's appeal remotely connects with Ted Cruz

Cruz is the more constitutional conservative, but is generally in the same as Paul. Even if they don't exactly line up, Cruz would obviously endorse Paul and direct his support there if he dropped out, and vice versa

Yeah....no, I don't see how they could be allied with each other, Cruz is a more Christian Conservative type of person who's policies and views contradict many of Rand's who is a libertarian Conservative

Cruz is the most similar to Paul. Even on foreign policy Cruz doesn't tow the neocon line of arming everybody that's opposing our enemy. I hope that Cruz's support would go to Paul's if he were to drop out.

It wouldn't surprise me if certain candidates have non-aggression sort of agreements between each other, especially for the debates, but I doubt to the degree that you're suggesting.

Given that the fact that there are so many candidates this go around, it's going to be a lot like the Hunger Games to get into the debates, so in a way I can see some alliances being formed to prevent some candidates from getting into the debates, but then again I could just see a free for all with everyone attacking each other
