I'll just make a very brief statement here for now, and I'll hopefully follow it with a proper campaign launch speech later.

With the entry of Mr. Opebo of Missouri in the race for Governor of the Mideast, I am here to announce my candidacy for the position.  Hopefully I can convince the citizens of the region to allow me to continue my role for a full term.

Below is a campaign button made for Joe Lieberman me a while back by King.  Feel free to put it in your signature. Smiley

My opinion on JOEMENTUM is that it tends to work on a case by case basis.  For example, Joe Lieberman had plenty of it at the beginning of his 2004 presidential campaign, but sadly for him he just didn't have enough of it to keep him ahead.  Fortunately for myself, I've commandeered the excess Joementum that Senator Lieberman has accumulated since then, and stored it for my own campaign.  Combine that with the existing supply of Joementum that my own supporters have already mined, and I believe I now have more than enough Joementum to keep me going all the way (back) to the Governor's Mansion.

I feel the legalization of child molesting could become a big issue. What's your take on this subject?

Yes, I agree.  Child molesting will become a big issue during this campaign.

If I win the election, that is correct.  Opebo would share certain administrative duties of the regional government.

If you can find another runner-up, they would be the potential Lt Gov.

I would like to ask Governor Joe his opinion on the present age of consent in the Mideast.

How about Dean?  He obviously wants to get involved, he probably won't beat Joementum, and there won't be any Lt. Governor sex scandal. Wink

Yes, Dean would be a good candidate or maybe 9iron. Both can't beat joementum and they wouldn't be opebo!

Polls give you a lead of 35 points. I recommend making up and leaking a poll showing Opebo leading by 10 points.

I wouldn't dream of doing such a thing.

In other news, a new Zogby poll has shown the current poll rankings as following:
Opebo 54%
Joe Republic 44%
Nader 2%

A spokesman for the Joe Republic campaign is disheartened but not overall worried by the result.  After all, the only poll that matters is the one on the weekend of May 20th-22nd.

Just in case anybody has somehow missed it, a debate between myself and Opebo is currently taking place.  Click on the pic to go straight to it.
