I was told about the constitutional issues regarding this bill. Still, there's a point to be made.
There's many reasons to support a regional currency. First, the most obvious, pride for our region. Second, because regions need to take bigger responsibilities on their local economies. Also, competition will do well to regulate the dollar. Plus, the many benefits for our local economy: currency supply, encouragement to "buy Northeasterner", etc.
Unfortunately, the writers of our Atlasian Constitution (or whoever wrote that part) decided the dollar would be better off fighting alone. To do this, they forced regions with bigger initiative to back down on creative proposals like this one. This makes for a new point for debate: should we continue this nonsense of pushing the dollar alone and the regions apart, or do we let some space for new initiatives?
This point, of course, will be made later. I table this bill now, but I certainly won't table this issue.
