Both of these men were chosen by the Democrats to lead them in a new century but neither cut the mustard. One flat out lost and the other was in a mess of epic proportions. Who would have done the better job as the President?

Any Democrat voting Alton Parker who wasn't born in 1880 or before in this poll is f[inks]ing ridiculous.

Why? Gore is a joke and Parker actually has some quite good political positions.

The pro-gold standard Democrat who cowered away from the only issue he was actually right about (foreign policy)? Not to mention his campaign was remarkably even worse than Gore's.

Both are complete jokes but Gore should be much more preferable than Parker to any Democrat who would actually like to use their brain.

Oh and may I mention that he won the South, and just the South? Just found this nice little tidbit:

This.

I usually argue within context of the times, but jeez Parker was still awful.  The differences between him and Roosevelt were even fewer than those between Gore and Bush.  I mean, at least Gore could could campaign as an alternative to Bush.

That's saying something.

Parker's alright, but I'm certainly not drawn to him neat as much as I  to Gore.

Hmm I was surprised this thread was even posted due to the slow nature of the forum last night. I clicked out and didn't check back in over here. I was very surprised this was up so hence why the spelling errors were here. They will be fixed.

Parker was a democratic nominee hence why he's here. He might not fit with the traditional parties ideal's but they nominated him.  Figure it would be a good matchup because he and Gore were the first nominees of their new centuries. They are both opposites too so it appeals to different sides. So in other words it's f(inks)ing appropriate.

Nobody's saying that it's not appropriate? It's just laughably ridiculous that a modern Democrat would prefer Alton f[inks]ing Parker to Al Gore.
