Well, do you think Dubya will be making his presence known for Jeb this election cycle?

Yes, because he's still very toxic for Republicans.

Since leaving office his approval has gone up and disapproval has gone down, but with the last opinion poll of Dubya taken April 30th to May 3rd he still holds a 46-30 net negative opinion, you can find the opinion poll in the link I provided below. He is still very toxic for us going forward (one of my many reasons for hating Jeb), I honestly hope he brings Dubya in the primary so he can collapse and allow a truly electable candidate the chance to grow.

Yeah, but it wont matter; given that both families have served consecutive terms.

The GOP is lead by tea party House anyways. Which hindered Romney's chances as well when he selected Ryan.

So, no net plus for Dubya campaigning.

But, Bill should do very well with base turnout while campaigning.

Shunning him hasn't done the Republicans any favors.

Dubya is OK with Republicans, but not with others.

Mother or Pearl...

I figured that Bill would be on the stump for Hillary, but I hadn't thought about W. or G.H.W. or even Barbara making the rounds for Jeb.

Let the Back to the Future jokes begin!

Dubya is OK with Republicans, but not with others.

A late 2014 poll indicated his numbers are up among Democrats

I wouldn't be surprised if he is, but most likely not. He's been very quiet since the end of his presidency, and I expect that to continue.

Shunning him hasn't done the Republicans any favors.

Aren't you a "tea party" Republican? You applaud and approve of Dubya but you denounce Rand Paul. If you are, we can officially say being "tea party" means nothing.

Probably not. Dubya has too much baggage. His prescence would be detrimental to Jeb's campaign.

Probably not. W has volunteered virtually no input into politics or government since leaving office and whatever bounce his approvals has gotten since then is surely related to that.

I think it depends on what direction he intends to run his campaign. The best use for W is probably if Jeb is running directly against Obama. Sure, W was a disaster, but Obama has been a disaster too, especially on the foreign policy front. I can see W making stump speeches, saying, "Sure, battling the Axis of Evil wasn't as easy as we thought, but we were winning when I was in charge." (It's not really true, but it's close enough to true that it coul play well with a chunk of the electorate.)

Also, and the media gives more converage to the batsh**t-insane clown posse that is the Republican field, W is going to look better and better domestically (especially on social issues) by comparison. (Again, not because he actually was good, but because the Republicans have sunk to depths not seen in a major party in a prominent country since before WWII.)

Maybe W isn't as much of a liability after all

http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/243858-george-w-bush-tops-obama-on-favorability-in-new-poll

George W. Bush tops Obama on favorability in new poll

"The CNN/ORC poll reveals that 52 percent of Americans see Bush positively, while 43 percent do not.

In contrast, U.S. voters are split on their views of Obama.

The new poll finds that 49 percent view Obama favorably, while 49 percent do not.

Those ratings for Obama are down from a similar poll in March. During that sampling, 52 percent of Americans viewed him positively, while another 46 percent did not.

Bush’s numbers, meanwhile, mark a major shift for the former president since he departed office in early 2009, CNN said."

He's not politically active anymore and doesn't show any indication that he wants to be. Besides, he and Jeb supposedly aren't even that close. Just because they are family doesn't mean they are close or that he will help his brother's campaign.

He'll be on the campaign trail in some capacity that is appropriate for a former President.  He would be too conspicuous by his absence.

FWIW, Bush 41 and Bush 43 are the only living GOP Former Presidents.
