I'm surprised there's not a thread for this already.

Browns fleeing browns to seek refuge with other browns and not a Jew, oil, commie or soccer ball to be seen?  We don't care.

Yes, they are Muslims escaping persecution from Buddhists (imagine that, doesn't fit in very well with the narrative we are so used to) and now they are drowning in the ocean.

People can be really disappointing sometimes.  Especially the political leadership of Australia.

Can't tell if this is an attempt at humor or what you actually believe.

Yes, it really makes Tony Abbott's outrage towards Indonesia seem hypocritical

Oh yes and Aung San Suu Kyi's statement:

"..."

I mean, she's the best Myanmar has, but she is a politician at the end of the day

You, certainly, do not. In that you are different from most people.

BTW, when we last discussed "world media only caring about the Jews" I happened to post the summaries of the news in a whole bunch of papers.

https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=213125.25

You will enjoy discovering that this was very heavily discussed everywhere.

Anyways, this is not about the Jews or football - even though it makes it so boring for you, you seem to have a pressing need to change topic ASAP.

It is hard to start with who is more despicable here. Myanmar, of course. But so is pretty much every other nation involved.

I most certainly care... it's just difficult to know what to say beyond 'well, this sucks'.

I also second Ebowed.

Honestly Dead0man have a point, through I think it's more complex than that.

The right don't care because the victims are Muslims. It doesn't really fit into the narrative.

The left don't care because the offenders are neither Western or Christian and the offenders are Buddhist, so it don't fit into the narrative either. Through if they can find some way to blame a Western country we will likely hear more.

Of course this is not the only conflict we don't hear about, compare Xinjiang/East Turkestan, or even weirder the Central African Republic which have had complete radio silence for a year right now, even through there was a genocide happening the last time we heard about that hellhole, or even Darfur the darling a few years ago, where the conflict still continue.

Of course none of these effect us like Syria and Iraq does, or are as clear cut as Boko Haram, have easy solutions like the Nepalise earthquake (send money).

Not a Rohingya, I'd wager.  Not that you would care.

Dude, he was saying that's why people don't care. He wasn't saying their reasons for not caring were right.

Seriously. You people are dumb to read it the way you did. Either straight up stupid or just looking to be outraged.

If someone said the reason we didn't go into Rwanda to stop the genocide was because Rwanda didn't have oil, which is something a lot of people say, people across the political spectrum, would you take that as an endorsement of not going into Rwanda?

Jesus.

In this particular case, I would.

Me too.  And I am pretty certain your well formed opinion of me (likely deserved) made you interpret what I posted a certain way.  It happens.  I'm sure it's mostly the fault of my posting style.

Though it is weird how sure you are of your interpretation, despite me and others explaining that it is incorrect.
