Arguably, seven candidates from the "Sun Belt" (from Southern California, Texas, Arkansas, and Georgia) were elected President in 12 elections from 1964 to 2004. Obama was the first elected President (excluding Ford, who was never elected) since Kennedy who didn't make his political career in the American South, Southwest, or Southern California.

When do you think the next President from the "Sun Belt" will be elected? I don't think Hillary counts, since she made most of her political career in New York and (arguably) Washington, D.C.

Jeb Bush. The more interesting question, I think, is who will be the next president from outside the "Sun Belt"?

Is Arkansas really the sun belt? It is a poor state that has a stagnant population growth rate along with  other deep south states like MS, LA, AL, etc.

A Sun Belt state is one that has a dynamic fast growing population fueled by migrants from the North. Places like Florida , TX and AZ are Sun Belt states imo.

He's right though.

By the way, someone who isn't American can be more knowledgeable about America than many Americans. Case in point, he's correct in saying that Arkansas, Mississippi, and Alabama aren't really Sun Belt states, while Texas, Arizona, and Florida are. On the other hand, you hold the presumably false idea that Arkansas is.

Ark is a sunbelt state: in fact so is dixie states like AL, GA, La, NC as well as FL, TX, NV, Ca&AZ.

I consider other sorts of data like plantation and farming in determining it as well.

He seems to be blinded by state pride, tbh.
